I have been trying to design my site for some time now, but I am having a reoccuring problem.

I don't know what I am doing wrong. I am using Corel Draw, and am exporting images in gif format with a transparent background , but I end up with a thin white line around these images.

There are two examples on this page.

www.sequoia.ca (http://www.sequoia.ca)

It doesn't show up if my background is white, but if it isn't it is noticeable.

Also it only shows up when I have anti-aliasing on. But if I don't check the antialiasing the image looks too choppy.

Is there anything I can do, or am I going to have to just stick with a white background?

Michaelee

Thanks for any help.

my advice is to download a graphic editor such as PaintShopPro, Photoshop, The Gimp or any other that has a "crop" function.

with the "crop" tool you can select the image itself and crop it and save it without the white. CorelDRAW isn't really a good program for designing graphics only. It's more for designing posters for concerts etc with allot of text on it.

or if you don't want to download the program yourself i'm pretty sure someone here on the forum would be glad to help you out to crop the image for you. If anybody is interested i'm sure they will PM you :)

Thanks for the info!

I thought maybe I could export differently somehow.

I guess I can use Corel PhotoPaint to crop out the white.
