does anyone know how to make a wallpaper with a paintshop, or know of good tutorials? i don't really know how to set the sizes

Do you know your screen resolution? Then type that in for the width and the height. Usually wallpapers are just big blends and if you are in doubt go to:

making wallpapers for giving them to anyone.. you make two versions.. one for an 800x600 resolution and 1024x768 resolution..

for an 800x600: your size is 800x600!
for 1024x768: your size is 1024x768!
