Lucky_Ducky63 02-09-2003, 04:42 AM You cant put text into an inline frames because an in-line frames is another window on your site which is a differnt link so yeah might need blogger. It's also easier to customise your page since you don't need the iframe. designgURL 02-12-2003, 05:16 PM Originally posted by Lucky_Ducky63 You cant put text into an inline frames because an in-line frames is another window on your site which is a differnt link so yeah might need blogger. That doesn't make sense to me. Maybe she wants her content and update section, or just the update section, to be in an inline frame. Plus it just doesn't make sense because of course you can always put text in an inline frame. People use blog scripts or blogger (which I never got to work and their support is.. zero) because it's easier.. You don't have to format it, or put the date/time on*, or add your name or e-mail in there, plus you can have images in there easily, like a bullet to start the whole thing or a blinkie for your name.. and it's easier.. you don't have to open up your ftp program or upload, just open up the webpage to post. and also importantly; they scroll the entries off themselves, so you don't have to manage them or worry about it. plus you can have cool extras, like comments or karma voting.. or whatever your script offers. *What a pain, and I would always use different date/time format cuz I'd forget. AND you can write your own script, with php and mysql, I saw a tutorial for.. but mysql is another pain that you have to learn what it is and have it on your host and set it up... And you can use iframes with a blog script.. it can be easier, which is, I think, what iframes are for. Please do not double post, use the edit button! --Moderator Alcy 02-12-2003, 08:39 PM If you just use an iframe and add text to it, you can't keep archives of old posts. You'll eventually have to delete things from the iframe when it gets too full, and you'll lose the posts permanently. I think I may have misunderstood. I though you already had a blog at blogger (http://www.blogger.com/) and wanted to use an iframe so you could see it at your site. |
