My dad is buying me a domain name for my birthday (which is today :)). Where should I host it, besides Dreamhost? Where should I go to register it? I was thinking about GoDaddy.Com to register and PowWeb.Com to host, but I'm not sure. I need your help!! Thanks.

My opinion is that dreamhost is too expensive. Godaddy's cheap, I like them. Powweb.com is not a host you want to go with. If you want to read more about them or any other host, visit Webhostingtalk.com (http://www.webhostingtalk.com) forums. There are a lot of people who know their stuff there, do your homework before finding a host. Sometimes hosts register the domain for you, but make sure that you're the sole owner of the domain.

Thanks for the tip about PowWeb. I did look into it a bit more, and it's not for me. I decided to go with Go Daddy and a new host called Uzipp. They have a great deal: 200 megs diskspace, 2 gigs bandwidth, PHP, etc, and all for $15/year. I have heard good things about Uzipp and so far everything has run smoothly. Thanks again. Wish me luck!
