I want to my portfolio pictures up on my site but i can't seem to get them up without loosing quality or having the file so huge they take up half my site allocation. Currently i'm saving them in JPG format but have no idea what to do. Because it's my business site i can't have fuzzy photos or i won't get jobs!

I'd appriciate any help on this if you can shed some!

uploading pictures cannot make your photos looking ugly. It's OR you are resizing them online with this code:

<img src="url.gif" height="#" width="#">

so that the photo is originally 160x150 (for example) and you code it as 80x60 so it get's resized online it looses 'quality'

OR you haven't saved your image good. Does your image contain fonts too? or only real 'photos'? for screenshots of layouts you could better save them as .gif because webgraphics are mostly saved as .gif for the better quality. .jpgs could better ONLY be used when you have real photography.
