1. Make a new file with the dimensions of 5x5. You can make the dimensions whatever size you want though. The bigger you want the grid to be, the bigger your canvus should be.
2. Take the pencil tool and make a backwords L on your canvus like mine. I'm using the color black but you can choose any color you like.
3. Now go to Edit>>Diffine pattern and click OK.
4. Alright you can close the canvus now. Next, open up the image of your choice. Make a new layer. Now go to Edit>>Fill. USE: PATTERN and select the pattern that you just made where it says Custom Pattern. (The backwords L). Click OK.
5. Lower the opacity of the layer if you think the grid is too dark. The next time you want to add the pattern, you don't have to do steps 1,2, and 3. Just skip those next time :)
