Can you use alt tabs on things thats aren't links? If so, how? All the info I could find talked only about links. Also, is there any limit on how many words you can use in an alt tab? Thanks.

What I want to do with alt tabs is this: I have a site where I list book recs., and I don't have much room. Each rec has a two or three line description. What I want to do is make alt tabs so that when you put your cursor over the title, you get the description. How would I do this? I tried changing the html codes, but it didn't work.
