Can you use alt tabs on things thats aren't links? If so, how? All the info I could find talked only about links. Also, is there any limit on how many words you can use in an alt tab? Thanks.

You can and should use ALT tags on images!

I'm still confused! What I want to do with alt tabs is this: I have a site where I list book recs., and I don't have much room. Each rec has a two or three line description. What I want to do is make alt tabs so that when you put your cursor over the title, you get the description. How would I do this? I tried changing the html codes, but it didn't work.

Those in bold you can change and of course you will
