what is the best and cheapest host to get my own domain name with no ads?

I like barronhosting.com it's $34 a year for a domain name and hosting with 100mb of space and 2gb of bandwidth.

"best" and "cheapest" really don't go together when it comes to hosting. if it's cheap, they probably cut corners and the support won't be as good. if you pay more, you get more features and/or better support. remember, you get what you pay for ;)

I've noticed with Barron the only difference is you can't have as many users, less space, less bandwidth, and less Mysql databases, since it's a small company you don't seem to lose any other features and the support is the same. (I think one or two people do all the work there.)

I'm looking at lycos and getting it forwarded from angelfire...its $35 a year...but I cant really find any details about it.

Does anybody else know? Space isnt really an issue but what I'm wondering mostly about is ads...angelfire has an option that is $5 a month to get rid of ads (on a regular site...not your own domain name) so if I pay the $35 a year to have the domain name, am I gonna have to pay the extra $5 a month so that I dont have ads???

According to most users, paid hosting from Angelfire is a rip-off.
Here are some good hosts which have no ads, and give you domain names.

Cyberpixels (http://cyberpixels.com) - Currently offering a free domain name if you get hosting for 1 year. They have quite a bit of space, and prices start from $5.95 per month (i think).

DreamHost (http://dreamhost.com) - Lissa's host, they're pretty cool. No ads, prices starting from $9.95 per month, and a free .com domain.


Netrillium (http://netrillum.net) - I've heard that Netrillium is a very cool host. Plans starting from $4.50 per month, no ads and (like Cyberpixels) offering a free domain when you pay for a full year of hosting.
