I'm having a bit of trouble here getting my computer to decipher files on the internet. Sort of ;)

On my website (run of the mill) I had a website hosted for another company. Finally they decided to go with their own domain, so I got them a domain and switched over all of the files. Unfortunately, when the files or graphics come up onto their page, it still says "run of the mill/dog.jpg' instead of having their name on it. All graphics and files are uploaded to their own specific website. All urls, hrefs, ect are changed for their site. When I attemped to change information on a few of the pages, it said it changed but nothing was updated on the web.

I just uploaded a graphic totally unrelated to anything into their new website, (I know it's there, it shows it) but when I went to view it, it said it wasn't there. In the manager is does say it is there, however.

So, just for fun I went back to my websites FTP, and played around with their old website I hosted. When I changed information there, it went to their new host and updated. Why?

Why won't it update when I change the file from THEIR website, but it will when I change it from mine????

Go to amssvces.com and look. See how the graphics (and htm's) are all under 'runofthemillhorses.com'?

I even went and tried to make a different HTM and upload it, and when I try to bring it up on the web it says it isn't there. :(

Can someone help me out here? I'm very confused, and I need to get this done soon.

Thankyou very much, Beth

sounds like the DNS records for their new site either; haven't propogated yet or haven't been changed to point at their new webspace.

check that the domain name in question is pointed at the new place and not at their old site. (you should be able to do that at the site you bought the name from).

Thankyou very much Okii.

Can you tell me what to look for once I get into the old domain? I am completely lost here ;)

Thanks Again!
Beth

Awhile back I posted asking for help on why my FTP files are acting goofy.

What is happening here, is I built a site for a company, and hosted it on my domain until it was complete. Then they purchased their own domain, gave me the information, and I went to transfer my files onto it. Unfortunately it wont work! It still brings up my website for hosting it.

Someone said that the CDN (I think) isn't updating or whatnot. If that is the case (and I think it is, there are no errors in my html for it to still be coming from my site) what can I do to go about fixing it?

Beth (who has no experience with CDN!
