This isn't exactly a question, but in a way it is... On most people's computers, they usually have an 800x600 or 1024x768 screen resolution. The problem is, I can't decide at what RES I should make my site when I create this new layout I have in mind... Should it be in my view (1024x768) or 800x600?

I think it depends on what kind of layout you're making. If you're making a tables layout, make sure you use percentages for widths, etc. But normally, I make a layout for the lower res. Sometimes people make layouts for a lower and higher res, again that depends on what type of layout you're making and if you have the time and patience.

See, I use DIVs (hence the tutorial from ``````````````) and the old layout I had was fit for both, and even higher res. settings that 1024x768. But with this new layout, the entire thing will be a DIV-family site... I would think that if I used the smaller res. I would get more visitors because of that's how most people have their computer set preferrably (I even used to), and I know how irritating it is to horizontally scroll.

i have the bigger resolution but still design for 800x600 that way both the 'main' resolutions can see it just fine, if you set a background color thats the same as your main image (or whatever) and set your background to not repeat across it should be fine...that way in the bigger resolution there will be a 'space' at the side but it doesnt look ugly...erm, im terrible at explaining, hope you know what i mean lol
