I just downloaded WS_FTP LE for uploading to my site (which is hosted on Tripod). I went through the tutorial and basics given on ftpplanet.com, and it worked great. Now I want to set it up to upload to my Tripod File Manager.

How do I make FTP go to the Host Name/Address for my Tripod FileManager??

Btw, I put it in HTML cuz I dont know where else this would go.

Thanks

actually wait dont close this i have another problem.

I got in and got all my stuff uploaded to my /cgi-bin directory but now I want to CHMOD them. I highlighted my /data dir. and clicked chmod (UNIX) and set it to 777, like it said to. then i hit OK and it said this:

SITE chmod 777 data
502 Command 'SITE' not implemented
! Chmod failed. It may not be supported on remote site.

it also does this when I try to chmod 755 the other *.pl files. how can i get it to chmod properly?

Nope...i cant think of a free host with cgi/chmod off hand...try a search of the forum for one, or a search at freewebspace.net. Good luck, wont be easy to find one :(

Have you tried Brinkster ? I'm not sure if it'll work, just a suggestion. :)

Ya right now im trying to sign up with Brinkster, as well as Fateback, but both of them are a little slow in sending their validation emails....

btw, does Fateback really give you all that that's on their homepage for FREE?? or do u need to buy it for 10 bucks?
