Hello! can anyone recommend me a good free text counter that counts unique visits and not every pageload? I'd also like the option to set my own start count since I've already got hits with the counter I am currently using.

Im currently using StatCounter, but every site I go to using StatCounter (including my own), it freezes my browser for a few minutes before it loads the page.

Perhaps a better idea would be to sign up to Google Analytics (http://www.google.com/analytics).

It lets you view a whole load of information including unique page views, individual page views and a lot more.

Unless you're looking for an actual counter that you can show off on your page...?

This is one that I used for a while. It uses a flat text file to store the count.
