How do I do something like http://www.greendayauthority.com or http://www.1039sweetchildren.net where you can have people post news but they can't access anything else?

I am using freewebs.

I would look in to WordPress (http://www.wordpress.org) if FreeWebs supports PHP/MySQL.

that's not what i meant. i don't want news to be all over websites. i'm making a fan site and just want a few people to be able to log in and post news because i can't do it all the time. however, i don't want them to know the password and be able to delete other stuff. only post news.

I suspect that with Freewebs, it will be highly implausible, due to the restrictions.

Freewebs probably has a blog service, given that there would be significant demand for it. See if you can find it, I don't use Freewebs so I wouldn't know.

U might try finding a free forum or message board and using an iframe to put in your page or even do a url forwarding to it,,,, Just a suggestion

in order to give specific people restricted administration or moderation rights you will have to use a better forum i suggest you look into >> http://ipbfree.com or if you are more advance or become more advanced
and get a payed host i suggest you look into smf forums which can be found here >> http://www.simplemachines.org/

Get a cheap paid host, a lot of hosting can be as cheap as $2.99 a month. Install some Content Management Software or an open source forum.
