I am in the *slow* process of building my first website in...years...since probably 2003 or 2004. I was looking for a guestbook to add to the site when I realized that I dont recall seeing any lately.

I look through my bookmarks (and I have a lot of them), and I found only two sites with a guestbook (this site is one of them).

So, my question is, should I forget about the guestbook or go ahead and get one?

Personally, these days, it is all about social interaction. If your site requires/has capacity for one, stick up a small forum. Guestbooks are impersonal, and I don't remember the last time I took the time to sign one.

Thank you iGeek! Yeah, I thought they might have been out when I saw not many sites had those anymore. Oh well, no one ever really signed mine anyway.

although ppl don't use guest books that much any more shoutboxes are an alternative to a forum or even an addition to a forum
