I agree with Chez, Jasc has good art programs like Paint Shop Pro. I don't know much about Adobe Photoshop, but from what I know, it's probably better than Paint shop. I've also recently learned that if you get a digital camera, they usually come with a little program to help you with your photos, though they aren't quite as good though.

i've been using photoshop for about a year now and now its reached all my needs brilliantly, i remember using paint shop at school one time and didnt like it at all but that was probably because i've been using ps. the s/w u get with digi cams or at least the s/w i got with mine ^^^^ed made graphics that were cheap looking
