Loren 07-24-2003, 04:50 PM I don't believe their are taxes, but you might want to check if dreamhost is located in your state, if it is their MIGHT be taxes but if not their shouldn't be taxes. Also if you don't need everything dreamhost gives you and don't think you ever will need it you might look into a different host. I believe dreamhost is reliable but if you only need 50mb of storage you could get that cheaper elsewhere, but if you need the 200mb+ you could just go with them. Also if you don't need the entire 20 GB transfer so if you think less than 20 veiws a month you might want to look at other hosts but if you think you will get more than that dreamhost would be a good host for you. sebluver 07-24-2003, 05:00 PM Originally posted by Loren I don't believe their are taxes, but you might want to check if dreamhost is located in your state, if it is their MIGHT be taxes but if not their shouldn't be taxes. There won't be taxes whether dreamhost is located in your state or not. That'd be discriminating against where you live. Dude128 07-24-2003, 08:57 PM I believe businesses are required to charge tax to people located in states wherever they have a facility. so if a company has a store in each state, they have to charge tax to anyone from the US. if a host is located in the same state as you, they will probably charge tax. I think that's the way tax on Internet purchases works :) Spirit892 07-24-2003, 09:49 PM I use dreamhost and I just paid a flat rate. I payed for a year in advance. If you are paying for it in monthly rates, for the lowest plan it is 9.95 flat, but WITH a 24.95 set up fee! that is why I payed in one year advance. There is no set up fee.
