Hi!! I am trying to make a pet site, and someone told me you have to use PHP to make one. Not I am a HTML Geek, so I was wondering if you could make an all HTML pet site??

Also, does anyone know how to make loggin sheets?? Or mail, or forums?? It would be a BIG help if you could, well, help!! Thanks for your time!!

Hi,

First off, a pet site is impossible without some sort of server scripting language and database knowledge. You could make a nice site, everything you want the way you want in HTML then ask someone to code the site for you, but many would be reluctant because it's a lot of work. Personally, if you're going to do this yourself, I'd learn PHP and MySQL. These languages are relatively easy to learn but may confuse you.

If you want to hire a programmer, you'll be ripped off, in two ways. First, they'll cost you about $400-$900 dollars freelance. Second, if the programmer isn't very good they'll leave security holes and bugs everywhere, plus they might not finish the work. I know, it happened to someone who was running a pet site ($810 for a site, and it still doesn't work right)!
