I have photoshop cs and was wondering why is it that when I use the selection tool or "select all" option and copy the selected photo/area of a photo and paste it to a new canvas the photo comes out black and white.

Any idea why? Hope someone can help! Thanks :)

Make sure "Greyscale" isn't checked in Image->Mode.

Greyscale isn't checked, but before I paste the selection to a new canvas I have to check RGB (although it's already checked, I have to click it again).
