Is there anyway to hide my friends list and comments so that only I can see them?

You can hide them on your profile so that no one can see them, and then you can view them from your links on your home page. But, no, you can't make it so that only you can see them ON your profile.

As LeSabre said, you can hide them from your profile, but you won't be able to see them on there either..
