View Full Version : It's about time jeez
Douglas 12-04-2006, 09:39 PM Finally! It is finally snowing here! We have been weeks with cold weather and no snow, and the snow is finally here :3 I believe it's still snowing, it has been all day, and the perfect stuff too... packy ... snow ball fights all day, maybe no school tomorrow :)
Idiotic Creation 12-04-2006, 10:06 PM I just got snow, last thursday. Except it wasn't cold weeks before. Actaully it was like 75 the day before. It is colder now though.
Owlie42 12-04-2006, 10:13 PM We have snow too. It's actually snowing right now. There were people having snowball fights at 2:00 this morning. Under my window. Go figure.
thezeppzone 12-04-2006, 11:30 PM Six days ago it was 70 degrees outside. We broke a high temperature record.
Right now? 22.
Overnight? The wind chill was five below.
Oh yeah, and there is a foot of snow on the ground.
I can't believe it. We had a few inches of snow in October for the earliest in the year there has even been a significant snowfall. Then it warmed up and was in the 60s for the week of Thanksgiving. Right for the start of December on Friday the 1st was when the cold spell came, and it is here to stay it looks like. We got a quarter inch of ice last Thursday night. About every single public and private school was closed, as well as universities. We decided to close classes at 3pm here. During the day it snowed about 4 or 5 inches. Saturday was very cold and it snowed most of the day. Yesterday was a white out for most of the day along with today. I think it has been snowing nonstop since Thursday night now. We have about a foot, and it is just supposed to keep coming thanks to Lake Michigan. It looks nice, and I love the idea of having snow on the ground when it is going to be this cold. I hate the cold by itself.

Sure you aren't where I'm at school? lol... We had a midnight snowball fight outside the dorm and tried to hit a few windows. Guys vs girls... We won of course... They got about 5 hits on us all night.
Marta 12-05-2006, 01:17 AM Hmmm...we got about 1/50 inch of snow (just estimating) yesterday..... It is really cold though!! But, no snow :(
Have fun playing in the snow everyone! :D Maybe I'll get some soon too.

SUPER RP06 12-05-2006, 08:37 PM Yesterday, it was snowing! We picked up significant accumlcation. It was snowing on the road, on our driveway, on grass, on vechicles, and on the roofs of the houses! Today, we got a bit of snow left, but it's not snowing right now, but according to the weather forecast for my town, we expect flurries in the overnight hours, and a mix of rain and snow in the morning and afternoon tomorrow. It will snow again on Thursday.

Owlie42 12-06-2006, 03:54 AM We got more snow about 3 or 4 this morning (I was up at the time, yes...) A couple of friends and I went and had a snowball fight in front of the library.
thezeppzone 12-06-2006, 04:13 AM Oh well
A well thought out and useful reply.
Yeah, Owlie, it has been flurrying all day but we are supposed to get a few more inches by Friday. Thankfully it is supposed to warm up a little, so some of it will melt over the weekend. I'm going home next Thursday night from school after my last exam so I am hoping it doesn't snow bad.

Lucky you. I don't get to go home until the following Tuesday. So hopefully it doesn't snow then either.(It can snow in Cleveland, but once I'm out of the general area, I don't care!)
It's supposed to be nearly 40 degrees tomorrow, but we're supposed to get more on Thursday...
And since this is an engineering school, I want to know why the heck we have a building that can't seem to stand having snow on it. Well, that's not the problem. The problem is that it's one of those "architecturally adventurous" buildings (meaning that it a)is ugly, and b)makes you nauseous if you're in it. No joke.) The way the roof is, snow and ice have a nasty tendency to fall off--onto the sidewalk (and whoever happens to be on it) below.
Edit: Oh, your avatar cracks me up. ;)
angelic.deception 12-06-2006, 06:10 AM I wish it snowed here at Christmas time. *sniff*
