I've been looking into getting Adobe Creative Suite, and I'd like to know if anyone else uses it. Is a good program, or am I just better off getting Photoshop alone, or even PSP? I've gotten trials of both PSP and Photoshop, and liked Photoshop better. Is it worth $380 for about 5 programs even when I might not use some of them?

To get it for $380, I'd have to assume that you're ordering it from an academic discount site, because if you were to order it directly from Adobe, it's $899 for Creative Suite 2 standard package if purchasing for the first time, $350 if you're upgrading.

However, it looks like buying Photoshop as a standalone program would be about $290.

So, if you're looking for the best buy, or what will get you the most for your money, I'd have to say definitely buy the Creative Suite 2 for $380. It's about $100 more than just Photoshop alone, but you're buying 5 programs instead of just the one. And who knows.. you might actually use some of the other ones! The only program I could foresee most people not using is InDesign, because it's a publishing software.

I think the CS2 bundle is much worth the money. :)

Thats kid of what I was thinking too, and yes we're going to buy it through an academic site, although we're not sure what one, and we want to make sure it's worth it before we buy. :-)

I purchased the bundle through my college, and the only program that I haven't used is Adobe GoLive, which is somewhat like a WYSIWYG web builder. Acrobat is what opens PDFs when I view them online, I make graphics with Photoshop and Illustrator, and because I'm working on my college's student newspaper, I use InDesign to create pages for that. It's definitely worth it. :)
