View Full Version : Halloween Countdown
LadyBatChic 10-03-2006, 06:46 PM Yup.
I needed to change my avatar, because now that we are in the month of October, I start to really begin to enjoy Hallowe'eny stuff.
How many of us at LEIA enjoy Hallowe'en?
Do you have any costume ideas for a Hallowe'en party this year?
Or do you have a story about a Hallowe'en experience you've had as a kid?
My favourite movie: Nightmare Before Christmas
My favourite costume: when I dressed as an Egyptian Snake Queen, complete with a paper mache snake head-dress I created, and rubber snakes sewed all over my gown (lol)
My favourite trick or treat candies: midget chocolate bars and very yummy candy apples that a neighbour makes
 xx dee
Chris 10-03-2006, 07:03 PM My favourite Hallowe'en movie has to be Hocus Pocus. I realise it's a children's movie, but I enjoy it for some reason  The kids acting in it are atroscious, though :P
Arwen 10-03-2006, 07:06 PM When's Halloween?
Chris 10-03-2006, 07:17 PM 31st October. Only 28 days!
Arwen 10-03-2006, 08:23 PM Ah, okay thanks, Chris! :D
Marta 10-03-2006, 08:36 PM I don't know that I'll do much for Halloween.
I do remember once when my sister and I dressed up and I was a nurse and she was a doctor. By the end of the evening I was sick with a fever! :( We did get some candy first though!
SUPER RP06 10-03-2006, 09:05 PM That prompts the Offical RP06 Countdown until Halloween!
We have...
27days, 6 hours and 55 minutes
AS OF EDT, UNTIL HALLOWEEN 2006!
(AS OF POSTING)

Thank you, Ryan. What would we do without you?

PS> I like your new avatar. Be-witching!
onigiri 10-03-2006, 10:16 PM I don't think I'll be doing anything for Halloween except packing for my trip home, as I'll be in China then. Not that I ever really do anything for Halloween, anyways.

How ironic!
Owlie42 10-09-2006, 09:35 PM I don't know what I'll be doing for Halloween. Homework, most likely. :(
Last year, my friend and I went trick-or-treating--last minute. I didn't have a costume (we had our "senior halloween" costumes from school and had gone as the Three Musketeers, but we were missing the third), so I threw on my fencing stuff and went like that.
amyaurora 10-09-2006, 11:14 PM I love Halloween. Already making plans. What is set in stone is I'm going to be Lara Croft, my son is going to be Indiana Jones and my duaghter is going to be Will from Disney's W.I.T.C.H. Plus we are speading the evening out at a friends party. Can't wait.

Sounds like fun!
I know I will be busy at a local fruit market, helping to sell pumpkins for Hallowe'en carving . . . so I will be donning lots of orange and black for this!
I have also been thinking about creating a wacky costume this year by sewing some very fun and strange rubbery-plastic balls in neon colours that have wiggly soft points that come out of them and glow when you jiggle them -- they only cost a dollar each -- onto a simple black dress. Black tights, orange gloves and orange sockettes with black high heels. Oh, and perhaps go adorned with a glow necklace and a couple of glowy bracelets as well.
Past me some ghost-toast, bat-wing pie and lively witches' brew and I'll be all set for the party.
 xx dee
thezeppzone 10-10-2006, 06:12 AM I'm doing a whole lot of nothing. I'll be coming home the weekend before, so there might be some town activities going on. However, Halloween itself, I will be up at school, and unless they are doing something, I will be sitting in my dorm room, probably online :)
Magln Meow 10-12-2006, 07:19 PM Halloween is quite fun. :P I just don't enjoy the fact that kids are rotting their teeth out by all these unhealthy candy and junk food.
Anyways, I have a Skeptic Club meeting on Friday the thirteenth at my school. We are going to break superstitions such as breaking mirrors, walking on cracks, spilling salt, chain letters, and all sorts of crazy things. lol, it's going to be lots of fun. I'll be dressed up like a black cat and cross their path. Then they'll supposedly have "bad luck". Yes, it's scientifically proving that these superstitions don't stand a chance against the eleven criterias of science. Hehe.
After which I'll be going to the Rennessiance fair with my best friend. :D So that's my Halloween. I'm so excited!
runescapemaster 10-30-2006, 11:21 PM tomarrow is halloween!:)
LadyBatChic 10-31-2006, 07:50 AM I have already had a bit of fun, dressing up as Pan, the Horned One from mythology, for a Halloween party on Friday. I really disguised myself well, so no one knew who I was (a mystery!) until near the end.
I won a set of silver-plated coasters for my costume entry. (yay)
Tonight I have a music practice, and a lot of us at our choral society will dress up for fun. Afterwards, my son and his girfriend and I are thinking of attending some horror films (Halloween Night Special!) being shown at our little local movie theatre.
Happy Halloween! :pumpkin:
Lissa 11-01-2006, 09:44 PM Why was this closed? :D We can still talk about Halloween!
My favourite movie: Nightmare Before Christmas!!
My favourite costume: I think I pulled off the clown really well when I was a kid.. three years in a row :lolol:
My favourite trick or treat candies: Chocolate.. lots of it!
I went to Halloween Horror Nights for Halloween.. it was great because we bought Express Passes, so we didn't have to wait in those craaazy lines! :)
iGeek 11-01-2006, 11:16 PM My Favourite Movie: don't have one
My Favourite Costume: Napoleon Dynamite << 5 years in a row!
Mr Favourite Trick or Treat candies: Miniature Baby Ruth and Snickers bars
This year all I said was, "Treat or Liger" to people. One guy cracked up laughing and dropped his candy bowl all over his porch. After grabbing a few and helping him clean up, we took off running. He was still laughing. There was a teenager that answered the next door. I almost instantly smelled drugs, and later when we were sorting candy I smelled a couple of mine and maybe about 20 or so smelled like pot. Next year, I think I'm going to wear a scarecrow costume and hang myself from our porch support pole. Maybe I'll answer "Trick" a few times and scare the crap outa a few older kids...
