Hey, I just got a new computer about a month ago and I'm still getting used to using it for webdesign, etc. (BTW, thanks to everyone who answered a post from a while ago about why notepad view source sometimes doesn't work...that was really frustrating and I was able to fix it by doing a Forum Search.) The latest thing that's started bothering me is the fact that my computer won't save images with transparent areas or animations...it just saves the image as a still frame and fills in transparent areas with white. I don't know why it does this, since I've got all the same software (mostly XP) from my old computer, and my new one is more "advanced." (The animations and transparent areas saved on the other one.) I've tried looking around at the settings, but I'm not sure what to change and I don't want to mess something up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Skye.. I think its because [My com is XP too so it should be correct i think lol]
(i) its like dat, when you view it it should be animated
(ii) the default color is white if you put the image in another color background [black will help lots] it would be transparent n take the color of ur background.
does it works?
if you are viewing the animated image on its own in an image editor, it will appear to be a still image (the first frame). if you view it using an animation editor, you should see all of the frames.
the transparent areas are probably still there, but you may not have your image editor settings set to display the "tranparency" making a buch of small checkers appear so you know what is transparent or not. check your image editor settings while having the image loaded in it.
Thanks for all the help, guys. But the animations just don't work, I have no clue why...my other computer with XP was the same way, and when I uploaded them they'd still be animations. But I tried viewing them in an animation program once they were saved and also uploading them...it still stays the same way, they're just whatever still frame was saved originally. The transparent images are the same way. I can usually tell if the transparency remains the same by looking at the thumbnail of the file...the transparent areas are light grey. But these are definitely white - just to be safe I uploaded it and even tried setting the backgrounds to transparent when I opened the images. It still didn't work, though. Anyway, thanks for all the advice :) (If anyone has encountered something this strange before, or has any clue what the problem might be, please reply)
