Wouldn't it be cool to have a flash avatar?
You know, avatars created in Macromedia/Adobe Flash!
I created 2 flash avatars:

Edit: This forum doesn't let me use flash avatars!
I noticed the other forum uses flash avatars.
Edit: That forum just removed avatars!
Please, don't redirect people to an outside forum! =D

The sizes of the files would be too large, and if loads of people had them, then the bandwidth would be unbelievable.

I have flash disabled on my home computer. If everyone had flash avatars I wouldn't see them.

Theres That and like The other person said the bandwidth would sky rocket plus it would be a problem with low bandwidth enabled computers and servers

Why don't you make a gif instead? :lolo:
You know what would be better? Giving Lissa money to buy her own bank of 100 servers. Literally, there is no current way to detect wether a flash movie is big, small, medium, not the correct type, etc. And the bandwidth load would KILL her server(s).

I've no great fondness for flash avatars (and rather hope that we never see them here) but regarding the bandwidth issue, couldn't linking to externally hosted avatars negate that factor?

But the pages would load very slowly, wouldn't they?

Yeah, you're right. I suppose it would under the right (wrong?) circumstances.
Oh, darn... I guess we'll just have to stick with static images. :D

maybe that flash avatars are too big in kbs, but in my opinion normal avatars size and dimension limit is too low >.<
