Hello everyone! I've had the same layout for my LJ for a long time, so I thought it was time for a change. I'm not good at coding or anything, so I'd usually just copy and paste the code from premade layouts and change the image. However, I have a very strong image of what I want my layout to look like, and I can't find a premade layout anywhere that looks like it at all! The CSS tutorials haven't been very helpful and trying to figure out what all the code means is leaving me completely stumped, so I thought I'd ask people who actually knew what they were doing.
Basically I want a layout that has the actual journal part with all the entries in a fixed box like this one (http://img44.echo.cx/img44/4936/preview7bk.gif), but I don't like the way the navigation links are in the same fixed box. I want those right above the journal entries, so that they will always be there and not scroll when someone reads my journal. I also want the navigational links to be graphics with links.
I made a dumb little picture in Paint in case I wasn't being very clear.. (http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b148/tinyshinywing/layoutidea.png) Basically I want Area 1 to be the navigation bar with an image map and always visible, no matter how much scrolling is happening, and in Area 2 I want it to be kinda like an iframe, I guess, with the journal entries only showing in that section. Area 3 is just going to be a background image.
If anyone can help me with this at all, I would be eternally grateful. Even pointing me to some tutorials that make sense would be awesome. CSS is really confusing.
