To create things like flyers, you'd be better off with something like Adobe InDesign, as it was created to make things like that.

If you're talking about just online flyers, you can still use InDesign and then PDF the documents to post online so people can print them off.

Otherwise, any graphics program should be able to make an image however you'd like.

Is there a specific example of something you had in mind?

I use a graphics program called The GIMP (http://www.gimp.org). It's free, and does almost everything you want. It's really easy to use.

Like Bourdelson said, Adobe InDesign would probably be the best program for creating flyers for print. You could also use Microsoft Office Publisher, if you have Microsoft Office.

A quick Google search (http://www.google.ca/search?q=open%20source%20desktop%20publishing&hl=en) also revealed some seemingly promising free alternatives to desktop publishing programs like Publisher and InDesign.

Hmm. I found this page from google:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010944201033.aspx

And it talks about making sure that, if you're printing from a desktop printer, make sure the color mode is RBG and that you're selecting the right size paper and setting the template right for your document.

Hopefully it can help you a little bit. :)

Publisher uses RGB? Weird. Most made-for-print programs use CMYK... decent ones, anyway.

Make sure that you have enough ink in your printer :)

My documents get fuzzy when the ink is running low in mine.
