Is it possible to somehow get favicons into stylesheets so that I don't have to go around changing every page I have? Thanks!!

You cannot change the content of your page in CSS. Using PHP includes or SSI would make it easier, but Freewebs supports neither.

Darn it. Would favicons fall into the "content of my page" category?

Unfortunately, favicons cannot be specified through CSS. However, all you when need to do to update a favicon is replace the existing one. If all of your pages have a link to favicon.ico on them, then just replace favicon.ico with the new image and they will all "update".

And no, like djou said, content cannot be created by CSS, only styled, so you're out of luck on the title of your pages unless you use server-side scripting to dynamically generate your pages.

Favicons are very much content. It is something contained within your page that is displayed by the browser.

And to clarify, the link wouldn't absolutely have to point to a file called "favicon.ico". It could be "thisistheiconwhichiusedtodenotemypageinaddressbars andbookmarklists.ico" for all that it matters. All I was implying is that if you already have an icon, just replace it with a new icon of the exact same name, then all of the pages would naturally be pointing to the new icon.
