Alright, I'm a TOTAL newbie to tables, so this will probably be so obvious to most of y'all. But anyways, I decided today to re-vamp my site and try out tables. Well, I'm sitting here and tinkering with the html, just lining up the basics tonight and I load up the layout-in-progress and there is this ugly white border surrounding my table. Now, I know enough about html to set border to "0", so that's been tried... any ideas on fixing it?

That's odd if you set border to "0". What browser are you using? I know that in Opera and such you cannot change the color of table borders ... but I don't know if that is relevant or not.

Nope, I use IE. Anyways, I uploaded the page to my site so you can take a peek and offer whatever knowledge you have on the situation. :)

Oooh, purdy layout! :-P
Anyhoo, the white border does not show up for me, have you fixed it, or do you still see it? If you still see it, then take a screen shot or something just so I can be sure of what you're talking about.
try adding this to your css area as part of your body values...
margin:0;

Hmm... the margin tag didn't work. Is it possible that tables just aren't supposed to fill the whole screen?

did you move the page? comes up as not found now.
