So for students, what are your new 2006 -2007 school courses?

I just received my listings in the mail a few days ago!

I will be taking these courses this year:
Vidoegraphy (art)
Algebra III (math)
Modern Asian History (social studies)
Film History (art)
Prayer, Death & Dying (religion)
Sociology (social studies)
AP Language & Composition (English; first AP course)
PE III (physical education)
Intro to Law (social studies)
Biology B (science)
Ethics (religion)
AP Language Prep (English)

I definitely didn't want Intro to Law, so I will have to change that. :(

I know, you guys are probably like, "WTH is Algebra III?!" Well, my school is just odd like that, but it's like a continuation of Algebra II since we didn't get too far, with trimesters and all that.

I'm excited for my first AP course in high school. It's a shame they only let juniors take one AP course though.

As a college freshman, I only have four classes.

They are:

English 101 [English!]
Moral and Social Problems [philosophy/humanities]
Literature and the Visual Arts [English]

I thought I did myself a favor senior year...

I had my lowest GPA ever, quarterly and cumulative; my cumulative dropped .1; and my class ranked dropped from 103 to about 140, out of 600 students. BAD!

I can't wait until college... I think. Move in date is August 22, classes start August 28 :)

Principles of Chemistry Lab (Chem 113)
Calculus II (Math 126)

Voice in the Shadows--I did the same thing, really. Except that our AP classes were year-long (except government), so I think it was probably easier.

It's like you're graduating high school in the 11th grade! I have 11th grade and 12th grade to get through before I am done with high school. :(

I'm a C/O 2008 graduate.

I feel so stupid, haha. Everyone's taking crazy hard math classes like "Super-awesome-genius Calculus eight thousand and fifty-seven," while I'm taking Quantitative Reasoning 114, which is just a fancy name to cover up the fact that it's elementary Algebra.

Ooooh. Fun topic.

I'm taking:

French Composition
French Literature
World Religions
Psychology of Aging
Women's Studies: Gender and Society

Not excited. Heh.

I actually took a placement test for math on my orientation/scheduling day... Let's start over:

Since 5th grade I've been ahead in math. There were about 5 of us that took a special class in 5th grade(Elementary) and then in middle school in 6th grade since all the little schools combined, there were more of us, but it was still basically the smart kids, I guess to say. I felt like I was back on track come 11th grade, since there were more kids in my grade taking the same class, but there were seniors as well. Then senior year I had my choice, AP Calc or Pre-Calc. I took Pre-Calc and still pretty much bombed it except for a few of the chapters I actually understood. So they have me take the placement test... There were only about 50 questions, but they sort of "curved" it, and the higher scores and ones with better records got placed... Including me... Calculus 2. I'm like whoaa I didn't even take Calc and you want me in Calc 2? So I was all ready to take it, but since I was placed into the highest regular math, I could take anything I wanted. Turns out someone told me, I could take Stats 215 in place of it, get my math credit, and also get credit toward a major in business, what I am hopefully going into. So that made me happy. End of a very long, not-so-interesting story.

^ Zepp, sounds like something I would do. I can either take Trig, Pre-Cal (then Calc -> AP Calc), or Stats this year and senior year for high school. I'm a B+/A student when it comes to math, but my interest lies in business. So I will definitely be taking Stats!

The math placement test I took was according to my SAT and my ACT scores. On my SAT, I got a 500 on the math and on the ACT I got a 19 on the math. I was a decent math student until Geometry my sophomore year. After that, it was all downhill. Algebra II = bad enough. I got Bs in the class, but I barely passed the majority of the tests. I failed the second semester of PreCalc senior year. I mean, I'd much rather take something I'm good at than something I know I'll fail, but I don't even need to take math for my major, just as a general graduation requirement. Honestly... what good is math to an English and art major? Haha. :D

Genetics and Molecular Bio sounds fun, but I wouldn't have to take the 'Genes and Evolution' course this spring becuase of my AP score, but my college will only accept a 5 for credit if you have AP Chem credit  Otherwise I'd be starting with Cells and Proteins (Bio 215) :(

I'm only a high school freshman so I can't even take AP classes (which sucks because I have the brainpower to do it but the stupid school system won't let me do it until I'm a sophomore) but here's what I'm doing:

French I
Spanish I
US History
Honors Biology
Honors English
Calculus III (yes it's a college course... Since grade 2 I've gone ahead a year in math, then started this math program in 5th grade: in 5th grade I did algebra I and II, in 6th grade I did geometry and trigonometry, then in 7th grade I started year 1 of college calculus, in 8th grade it was year 2, then now in 9th grade its calc III)

Plus I'm on the debate team...
