Hmm, I go everywhere on the map. I literally listen to like everything. I have my favorites though. See, with that said, there is not much I absolutely can't stand. Even if there is a singer or group that I don't particularly like, if I am with someone that likes them, I can stand listening to it. Same goes with some artists that I only like a few of their songs. I can listen their other music even if it isn't my favorite. So... Where shall I start...

Panic! At The Disco(Just went to a concert)
Hawthorne Heights(Just went to a concert)
Fall Out Boy
The All-Armerican Rejects
Chiodos(One of my new likes)
The Hush Sound
Unwritten Law
Big And Rich
Rascal Flatts
Chris Brown
Nickelback(Some of it)
Simple Plan
Tim McGraw

Yeah.

Most of the stuff I like is rock, though I'm a bit picky about what bands I do and don't like - it's not any particular subgenres.

Examples:
Coheed and Cambria
Jimmy Eat World
Smashing Pumpkins
Nirvana
NoFX
The Offspring
System of a Down
Rage Against the Machine
Nine Inch Nails
Evanescence
Deftones
Team Sleep
Alkaline Trio
Blink 182
Rancid
Red Hot Chili Peppers
Muse
Pink Floyd
Weezer

My list is quite short xD

Hmm...My playlist is rather ecclectic, so this is tough. I think most of it is classical, soundtracks, and Celtic. (Though there's a fair bit of rock and pop on it.)

Genres are for radios and record stores! A good artist can produce good music, regardless of their style, and I'll like and listen to it. That being said, I'd have to admit that my tastes do tend toward music of a guitar-driven nature. But anything with a strong beat, catchy rhythm, and soulful melody is game.

Une liste!

Daft Punk
Wolfmother
Pink Floyd
The Beatles
Louis Armstrong
Ludwig van Beethoven
The White Stripes
The Magic Numbers
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club
The Police and/or Sting
Rolling Stones
Matthew Good (with or without the Band)
Moby
The Killers
Aphex Twin
Yo-Yo Ma
Jimi Hendrix
The Tea Party
Pilate
Moist and/or David Usher
The Strokes
Hot Hot Heat
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
K-os
Massive Attack
Mindless Self Indulgence
Gnarls Barkley
Fatboy Slim
Aphrodite
The Eagles
Moloko
Ocean Colour Scene
Norah Jones
Nick Drake
Steven Curtis Chapman
The Doors
The Dears
Modest Mouse
The Red Hot Chili Peppers
Bob Dylan
Oasis
Stevie Ray Vaughan
Rocketface
The Shins
Travis
Kasabian
The Verve
Kaiser Chiefs
The Notwist
Jefferson Airplane
CAKE
The Tragically Hip
ZZ Top

...and I should probably cut myself short there. This could go on for a while.

You do know that they compare our President to the Nazis? Any band that says anything against our Government/God/etc. is a load of crap. Like I said. They suck. No question.

When Green Day isn't venting anger, they let hopelessness seep in. "Give Me Novacaine" begs, "Take away the sensation inside/Bittersweet migraine in my head/It's like a throbbing toothache of the mind/I can't take this feeling any more." On "City of the Damned," Armstrong sings, "City of the dead/At the end of another lost highway/Signs misleading to nowhere—city of the damned/Lost children with dirty faces today/No one really seems to care."

You have RESPECT for them?

We're all entitled to our opinion on that matter. I was under the impression that this thread was about music, not politics, and I'd like to keep my impressions intact. :)

Looking at my playlist...a list of artists/albums/composers and things:

Bach
Anime and Game music
Green Day
Monty Python
Lord of the Rings soundtracks
Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks

Vivaldi
Random Indian pop music

Yay for being a bando!

I love the HP soundtrack... I especially like POTC, when I went and saw POTC2 last week that's all I really wanted to hear, the theme, in the theatre. Hehe :) Good stuff. So you could add them to my list, along with some others. I don't really listen to a lot of band music, but some. For the most part it was always whatever I was playing. So like we played The Incredibles for marching band last year and I got that off of the Hal Leonard Marching Band CD. One thing I am proud of thta I have though is all 9 tracks of The Planet's by Holst :) Now THAT is good music.

*Playlist goes from Gustov Holst to Hawthorne Heights when in arranged alphabetically :)*

And I agree with you on the whole politics crap, this is so not the thread for it, or anywhere on this board really.

Orch dork, actually. But the effect is much the same.
Holst is one of my favorite composers, actually. I was very, very happy when we played St. Paul's Suite for our final concert this year. And given what I had heard about POTC 2, the music was what I was really going to the theater for.

Chiodos(One of my new likes)

I love, love, love, love, love Chiodos!

I've been listening to them since they were The Chiodos Bros. a few years ago.

I listen to a bunch of rock, metal, punk, hardcore, screamo, techno, what my friend described as "progressive dance," and a bunch of other stuff.

I listen to a lot of local bands [one of which being Chiodos!] as well.

Some of the signed bands/artists I listen to are [and don't feel bad if you've never heard of some of them, haha]:

Fall Out Boy
Panic! At the Disco
The Dresden Dolls
The Fall of Troy
Bullet for my Valentine
The Blood Brothers
Flesh and Blood Robot
Every Time I Die
As I Lay Dying
Bob Dylan
Johnny Cash
John Mayer
Weezer
Walls of Jericho
Norma Jean
Underoath
Unearth
Evergreen Terrace
Circle Takes the Square
A Wilhelm Scream
30 Seconds to Mars
Beck
Death From Above 1979
Armor For Sleep
Atreyu
Dragon Force
Between the Buried and Me
Avenged Sevenfold
Boys Night Out
Circa Survive
Brand New
Bring Me the Horizon
Death Cab for Cutie
Coheed and Cambria

and there are tons more.. Trust me. Haha. I could just list every band on my mp3 player. That'd take foreverrrrrrrrrr.

I do have my guilty pleasures though, which would be crazy rap music. Like, Sean Paul, 50 Cent, Three 6 Mafia and Tech N9ne. Haha. I'm just weird.

U2

I like U2 too (or should it be 'as well'?). As for Philip Glass, I'm not sure about that...My problem is, I've got a lot of individual songs, maybe one or two for most of the artists on my playlist, so I can't really judge if I like them or not by those one or two songs.

Well, I just saw an fantastic open-air concert at the Festival of the Islands. The band on stage was Canada's own Theory of a Deadman (from Vancouver) and the performance was absolutely fab. (((still glowing)))

Kira: we will also have a an afternoon garage-band performance today, at the town bandshell at 3 PM that I am looking forward to seeing. The top name for today will be Gananoque's own Death by Butterfly. Afternoon punk -- such fun! And it is a free benefit concert to help make some funds for a local childrens' cause.
