View Full Version : Jazzing it up

My current website is pure html and while it's not dorky-looking, it is rather simple and I'd like to do something different and jazz it up a bit. Now it seems to be that Photoshop-type templates are the way to go when it comes to websites these days (whether you create it or buy it) - but am I right in that? And definitely CSS - but do the two go together? Or forget about templates and go CSS? Or should I just stick to good ol' tables?

As you can see, I'm a bit lost for direction here. I know this is not a two-second-answer type question but if someone would share some thoughts with me and point me in some direction, I would really-really appreciate that.

Thanks!

everyone has a personal opinion on that type of thought.

use photoshop to create/edit any image you like. that is what it is designed to do.

use css to help you design layouts.

tables should be used to hold "tabular" data or stuff in a spreadsheet type of formation.

in the end... if whatever you happen to use works for you, then that is a good choice.

Thanks very much for your input, pb&j - I had a feeling this is a touchy topic. :)
