Interested in the Abacus?
Here is a great website to check out:
Abacus: The Art of Calculating with Beads

Now: Could there be a contest between the Abacus and the computer? And which one do you think would win?
 xx dee
I'd have to say the computer would win, as cool as the abacus is. XD

Count me in as another vote for the computer  Unless, of course, the power has gone out!
I never understood how to work an abacus, you can do division, addition, multiplication, everything!

Ha! I really liked that joke, Lissa.
And you know, with the amount of local electrical storms increasing, the abacas, just might be our final back-up plan. (Dig out the instruction manual by candle-light, folks!) :lolol:

I don't own an abacus. I wouldn't mind having one but why bother when the computer is so much easier and faster? Pocket calculators work just as well too.

I love the idea of a classical abacus for its beauty of design. Check out this link, if you'd like! Abacus As Art: http://www.ee.ryerson.ca/~elf/abacus/modeabacus/
