Ahhh! I need help! Okay, my tables won't work properly. I'm trying to figure out if that has to do with my css coding, which I don't really think it does, or the html. In any case, I've done just about everything I can think of and it still doesn't seem to help! ::cries:: Any information or suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated. Here's my css coding:

/*BACKGROUND*/

A:link
{ text-decoration:none; color:#9BD400; font-weight:bold; }
A:visited
{ text-decoration: none; color:#9BD400; font-weight:bold;}

A:hover
{ text-decoration: none; cursor:se-resize; color:#808080; font-size:10pt;
letter-spacing:2px;}

body
{background-color: #FFFFFF;
font-family: arial;
color: #000000 ;
font-weight: lighter;
font-size: 8 pt;
line-spacing: 15px;
margin-left: 2px;

scrollbar-face-color : #FFFFFF;
scrollbar-highlight-color : #FFFFFF;
scrollbar-3dlight-color : #FFFFFF; scrollbar-shadow-color : #FFFFFF;
scrollbar-darkshadow-color : #FFFFFF; scrollbar-track-color : #FFFFFF;
scrollbar-arrow-color : #ACE3FF; }

td
{font-family: arial;
color: black ;
font-weight: normal;
font-size: 8 pt;}

table table {border: 1px #000000 solid; }
table table table {border: 1px #000000 dotted; }

p, div
{font-family: arial;
color: black ;
font-weight: normal;
font-size: 8 pt;
align: left;}

input, textarea {color:BLACK; font-size:8PT;
letter-spacing:1PT; font-family:arial; background:clear; border:1PT inset BLACK;}

H1

{ FONT-FAMILY: ARIAL;

COLOR: #647070;

letter-spacing: 3pt;

line-spacing: 5pt;

font-size: 9pt}

And then this is the code for my site:

table table {border: 1px #000000 solid; }
table table table {border: 1px #000000 dotted; }

should be:

table {border: 1px #000000 solid; }

Mirna

Thanks Mirna for your help, but that's not what's going to solve it. You see, my page consists of three tables. The first table will not have a border around it because the top image has a corner missing. And that is not the problem I was looking for, it's the table cells. I can not control the widths of them! See? click (http://www.angelfire.com/blog/unrestricted/indexx.html)

having table table table willl not go to the third table. You will need to make classes for each table:

.table { coding for table 1}
.table2 {coding for table 2}
.table3 {coding for table 3}

put that into your css and ten put this in your table:

class="table"
class="table2"
class="table3"

put second for table 2 and third for table 3 inside the <table> tag

Okay I did that and all that did was make everything more organized... the problem with the table cells still occurs. In the second table, first row, I have two columns. One holds an image, and the other an iframe and the width of the whole table is 600. No matter what width I set for them, the cells stretch beyond 600 pixels. Also, in rows below it, they all stretch out to meet the first column. I've checked my numbers a few times seeing if everything adds up to 600 and it does. Then, I tried switching to percentages and seeing if everything added up to 100%, and it did. Regardless, the problem with the cells still occurs.

<table border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
<td width="600" bgcolor="#B6CDE2" height="15">
</td>
</tr>
</table>

this part? if so, you have to add atleast something, otherwise that table will not show up in your layout. if you don't want to see anything in it, then set font color the same as background and add some text to it :)

Mirna

It shows up... that's not the problem I'm having. I want to change the widths in my table cells on different rows. It WILL NOT allow me to have the top row with two columns both set to 300 pixels at the width, and the following row with two columns set at a width of 450 for one, and 150 for the other. It lines them up exactly with the two columns above it. Is there anyway I can change that from occuring?
