I am trying to make borders around images. I ctrl+click on the layer in the layers pallette then I either click contract, expand, or border. When I do that and fill in a color or pattern it fades around the edges. Does anyone know how to make this stop? I did that once and it didn't fade, that's why I'm asking. Thanks.

Why not just use Edit->Stroke?

I can't stroke because I'm using a pattern.

I came across this: http://www.pixelfx.org/tuts/ps/imageborder.html Unforantly (sp?) it is Edit-Stroke but maybe the pictures will help? Or maybe theres something else on the main page? http://www.pixelfx.org/ps-1.html

You could always make your own border with the selection tools. After you complete the work, you can use the selection tool that permits only 1 px width or the regular quadrilateral tool. That's the last resort type way though.

Could you perhaps post when the image is affected when you tried your method described?
