Instead of editting the image itself, copy and paste the image as a new image. Like so Go to Edit >> Copy >> Then Paste- >> Paste as a new image Since it's GIF it'll have monochromatic colors, so you'll have to do that. My PSP 8 has a GIF Optimizer... does your version have one? Go To>> File >> Export >> GIF Optimizer That's as far as can go with your problem.
