hi there!
I'd to know how to take a screen capture from a movie that i'm watching. i know that the 'prt sc' button captures what's on the screen at the moment but what about capturing a shot from a movie? is it the same?
this is basically what I'm doing: I play the DVD on the computer (tried capturing the scene on windows media player and "intervideo windvd"). then i press the "prt sc" button while the scene I want to capture is playing (I've also tried it with the movie paused...didn't work >_< ). next i paste the screen cap in paint and save it. however once the DVD is stopped the screen cap goes black. once I stop the DVD the image is gone.

does anyone know what I could do? am I supposed to use a special program or something? is it even possible to capture a screen while a movie is playing? I'd appreciate it greatly if someone could help me figure this out.

I'm really sorry but since movies are heavily copyrighted the DVD player on the computer has a feature that blackens out the movie part whenever you 'PRT SC' (Print Screen) it. I have a Windows XP and have tried to get screen captures of the movie but, all I get is black too. There are no programs that can do that, and if you found one it would be ilegal to use in your case because you did not ask permission from the people who made the movie to use a part of it. Why don't you try searching for some screen captures on the internet? Maybe a movie trailer or something?
