Ok, I'm very confused.. from what I can tell it is quite stupid though, I mean make it load slower... stupid stupid stupid.

Do you know what a pain that would be to everyone else, not just the companies that would have to pay boocoodles of money to speed up their site? In the end, all the major companies would end up owning the sites (and servers) that run quickly. And, like the report says, we're going to end up paying for it. Gr, that makes me angry...

I hope we can get an update on that bill and call our senators/representatives when it comes up for vote. :tired:

Knowing the ones from my state, they'd vote for it.

Sorry, but that's ridiculous. We go on about protecting small businesses, but what are we considering? Makes life more difficult for small web-based companies for a start...

And people like me who don't either care for or go for all that fancy web stuff.

And people like us who make websites as a hobby, not as part of a business.

:: this article demands further reading. :: thanks for sharing this with us all, amyaurora!

:: i do find it interesting, however, that Internet seems to be progressing similar to the ways of radio and televison have done in the past . . . creating specialized wavelength channels, paving the road for commercial ventures.

:: but alternative views do have their place, as i see it, (alternative art, music, dance and personal website inventiveness) but i've heard it said time and time again, that non-commercialized standards do not fit well within the main-stream.

:: poor-stream and rich-stream? :: somehow, i do not think that this is the solution to finding (and funding) commercialism for the larger companies through the Internet jetstream.

Let's hold onto our hats and see what will come next. . . .

http://comitar.com/movies/pnn/ (my friends site with a commercial)

and then

http://www.savetheinternet.com/

both of which are trying and asking for volunteers to help avoid the "Web Toll"
