What is everyone doing for Mother's Day?

I/We got my mom a kick-butt present, but I can't say it because, well, she frequents the forum of course :hehe: The history of Mother's Day (http://mothers-day.123holiday.net/) is actually quite interesting - it began as a time to attend church with your mother and make hand-made gifts, and of course became a Hallmark holiday against its founder's ideals. :)

I'm not doing anything. My mum is overseas as she is undergoing an operation. I just sent her a card a few days ago

Sorry about your mom, Jo. Hope she does okay.

I don't know what we're doing for my mom's mother's day yet. I'm broke, so it will have to be planned by me dad. :P

Oh that's terrible about your mom, Jo! :( I'll keep her in my thoughts.

The only thing we do on Mothers' Day is church and then go see the family. That takes up almost the whole day. I should be going shopping tomorrow for this day. :p

I'm not sure what I'll do for Mothers day.....we should we think of something!
That was an interesting history Lissa! Some people maybe do overdo it, but I think it's a great wat to show appreciation for mothers :D

I'm not exactly sure what we're doing. Possibly spending the day with family, though I dont usually like the company of my family.

I have already ordered a dozen daises(my mom's favorite flower) and picked out a card.

You could make her something ;) Like, I would crochet an afghan for my mom (that's not what I am doing it's just what I would like to have done, even though it is completely the wrong season for that)

Or give her an entire day off and make dinner and everything for her.

I don't really know. Like I said, this is my dad's area normally since he has the money in our house. hehe

Like your sig by the way, Arwen! I can do a wicked impersonation of gollum. ;) He's one of my fav characters.

Same here. My mom, every holiday, she says "Oh, I don't want anything." Makes things very difficult. Maybe I'll cook dinner...?

Absolutely nothing. Never really did anything for Mother's Day or Father's Day in the past, and I have no plans to start ever.
