I'm looking for a good graphics program to make glitter graphics, blends, layouts etc. I have looked into Adobe Photoshop CS2 - it looks good, but really expensive! Is it worth the $600 to buy it or should I look into another program? Thanks!

I use GIMP and I loooove it. :D It's not as good as photoshop, but it is comparable. And, it's free! :)

Corel's Paint Shop Pro is a very good graphics program, able to do a lot of things you can do in Photoshop, and it's only $100.

You definitely don't need the "latest version" of a graphics program. Photoshop 7 is one of the best versions out there, as well as Paint Shop Pro 8. Go for a used/old copy if you don't like the freeware.

if you are only making glitters and blinkies, i suggest using GIMP. Paint will even work fine. I use flash 8, cs2, psp7 and they all work fine!
