- saying nice things without to advertise with your site like "plz come visit mine!!" becuase they won't

- get linkxchanges, those are people who link you, and you link them too. You exchange links :)
- have good content
- be original
- don't copy
- use selfmade layouts, no pre-made ones
- have something on your site for visitors to do, so to entertain them
- hold an layout contest
- guess the ....... (fill in yourself) page and make awards for the winners


the main tip is just to be nice, don't advertise in every guestbook entrie you put up, becuase if people get curious they willl visit you after all. When you put up "nice site, visit mine!" they are more likely to just delete it, or just ignore it so they don't visit you at all. If people email you, try to help them also if you are really busy (or it must be a reason like family problems etc..) so that people say "thanks for the help i will link you for it!" and tadaa you got another link.
