argggghhh! I've tried and tried and tried but I can't get my layout to stretch.

What I mean by this is, the latyout is supposed to keep going to the bottom of the screen. Then, should your text strech further than that, the layout just keeps going.

I was told you need a slice of it and set is as background etc etc somethign like that, and I've countlessly tried adn tried but I can't get it to work look!:

The text runs off the layout, which it shouldn't do. How do you make it "stretch"? :confused:

Try using a div with a scrollbar.

That's a simple one. But it's probably hard to explain. Where your content goes, you have to have a table with 3 columns, the left and right column must have those images as backgrounds, and the cell widths must be exactly that of however big those side graphics are.
