Hi. No matter what I do, my graphics are always in bad quality when I open them. I made a layout for my site and saved it as a JPG with the options set at the best quality as possible. Whenever I open the graphic, there's green dots in part of the graphic. Is there anything I can do to stop this and clear it up? I'm using PSP8. Thank you.

run the .jpg optimizer and play with the options a bit till you get the same quality in the "after" screen as in the "before" screen. that is what i do with .gif too, and it works great.

although if the image is not a photo, i would suggest saving it as .gif because .jpg makes it always a little blurry when it's not a photo, no matter how you save it.

.jpg optimizer can be found under File > Export

I was wondering, does .png work on all computers? I was told that it's the best quality, but it takes too long to load (I'll just cut the picture up).

just a hint, cutting up the picture doesn't make the loading time smaller :) it still needs to load 10 different images, but it 'looks' faster becuase they load at 10 at a time.

.png doesn't work on the older browsers, like the real old ones. This is what i found on the net:

Opera 4-6, IE 5-6, Mozilla 1, Netscape 6+ and most derivatives of those. Although not all features of PNG's are supported in all
browsers.

those are the ones that really support .png's. Still i think, that most peopla allready use IE 5.5 or above so you shouldnt' worry too much about it. After all, it's your site :)

a little hint: put ".png's need to load! be patient!" or something on your splash page, or on the first page as first sentence, so people know what to expect
