Ok, I have a Compaq Armada M300 laptop, with Pentium 3 and Windows 2000. I had a mouse problem, so I cleaned it out... nothing wrong, works perfectly for a month. It happens again. I clean it out again, but still, it doesn't work. (the mouse, that is) The problem is, it will move and right click but won't left click!

Now this is the confusing and the part that doesn't make 'computer sense';

I can use an external mouse, PROVIDED I do not touch the internal mouse... okay....?

I thought it was a trojan, so before I go and do a scan, can anyone tell me if a virus would be able to do that.

And I even cleaned it with the vacuum, and it still doesn't work!

And I'm never going to be able to resist touching the touchpad, I'm so used to it!

So the internal mouse doesn't work? Just the left click on it right?

I guess I'm still a little confused by your story. If this is true, cleaning it with a vacuum I am sure didn't help your case. Vacuums build up static, which we all know is not good at all for any computer part.

The left click doesn't work, before and after the vacuum. Sometimes it will work once then not again until I reboot.

And anyway, I didn't vacuum it with it open, I just vacuumed it so Ii'd get rid of some of the dust.

sometimes some of my keys wont type.

I run adaware and it is fixed. Sometimes i cant type at all
run adaware and it gets fixed.

so Things on my puter can impact how the keyboard works.

But we're talking about the mouse... could the same happen?
