I've heard about it, for a long time now lol, I haven't heard anything really about it, just different than the other ones :D

I hear it expects too much of a computer to be installed. My crappy HP desktop can't handle that. I think I'd rather stick with XP or even Linux.

I hear you, my friend!

When Vista comes out, I'm buying a new computer. Forget using Vista on my current computer, that would be a major joke! :(

well my parents forked out 250 to get a psp for me, so i don't think i'll be able to get them to get me a better computer, even if it is a refurb (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1696984&sku=E400-T6412).

When the new build comes out that allows dual-boot, I'm going to download it. My computer has about 2x the requirements of it. :D

I've seen stuff about it, and have already said I'll get it. I have an AMD 64 and wanted to give xp 64-bit a shot but I never got it. So at this point I might as well wait until Vista full comes out, and I'll be able to get it for free from school. :)

I'm buying a new computer when Vista comes out, partly to have Vista, but mostly to install a Chinese input program on, since my brother doesn't want me to install it on the computer we share.

I've heard about it, but really don't have an opinion on it as of yet. I guess I'll just have to see.

Having more than one operating system installed to choose from when you boot your system up... like Linux and Windows.

I haven't heard that much about it. I think xp works just fine, especially since the system we had before it was 95! It really depends if my dad decides to get it, which I don't really expect. It sounds cool though.

Well, guys, there will be six versions of Windows Vista.

3 versions will be for home users.
2 versions will be for businesses.
1 version will be for "emerging markets."

Here are their names:
Vista Business
Vista Enterprise
Vista Home Basic
Vista Home Premium
Vista Ultimate
Vista Starter

If you guys are interested in the different versions, here's (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4754462.stm) where I got the information from. :)

I'm sure it's been said in this thread, but I bet hardly any computers will be able to cope with Windows Vista - it's requirements are far too much.

Anyway, in my opinion it's just a copy of Apple's Mac OS, and still won't be as good, and I doubt I'll upgrade to Vista. If anything, I'll change to Mac OS.

How is it a copy?

I mean, it's standard for Microsoft to release a new OS every few years.

I don't really know enough about its architecture, so I'm purely basing the similarities on the interface. :D

Awww! :(

Microsoft to Delay Windows Vista Release (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060322/ap_on_hi_te/microsoft_windows;_ylt=Ake8TFGgAcRBQg5HYwrWJRys0NU E;_ylu=X3oDMTA3b2NibDltBHNlYwM3MTY-)

SEATTLE - Microsoft Corp. will delay the consumer release of its new Windows operating system until January 2007, missing the holiday sales season and throwing some PC makers and retailers into turmoil.

I was looking foward to buying a new PC with Vista on it this year.

Chris

That won't bode well for Microsoft.
