View Full Version : Windows Vista SUPER RP06 03-18-2006, 01:28 AM Have you ever heard about Windows Vista? I do. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Vista What do you hear about Windows Vista? Douglas 03-18-2006, 01:31 AM I've heard about it, for a long time now lol, I haven't heard anything really about it, just different than the other ones :D darckasasin 03-18-2006, 01:41 AM I hear it expects too much of a computer to be installed. My crappy HP desktop can't handle that. I think I'd rather stick with XP or even Linux. tokyo bleu 03-18-2006, 01:46 AM My crappy HP desktop can't handle that. I hear you, my friend! When Vista comes out, I'm buying a new computer. Forget using Vista on my current computer, that would be a major joke! :( darckasasin 03-18-2006, 02:02 AM well my parents forked out 250 to get a psp for me, so i don't think i'll be able to get them to get me a better computer, even if it is a refurb (http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-Details.asp?EdpNo=1696984&sku=E400-T6412). Patrick 03-18-2006, 02:08 AM When the new build comes out that allows dual-boot, I'm going to download it. My computer has about 2x the requirements of it. :D Kittie 03-18-2006, 02:09 AM haha who said they didnt care too?? :hehe: Patrick 03-18-2006, 02:10 AM Hey, a built-in chick-fil-a backround would do the vista good ! Kittie 03-18-2006, 03:04 AM *yum* did you know chikfila sold icecream cones?! [/off topic] this vista thing looks cool tho, i'll give it that much ;) thezeppzone 03-18-2006, 03:53 AM I've seen stuff about it, and have already said I'll get it. I have an AMD 64 and wanted to give xp 64-bit a shot but I never got it. So at this point I might as well wait until Vista full comes out, and I'll be able to get it for free from school. :) Backlight 03-18-2006, 04:28 AM When the new build comes out that allows dual-boot, I'm going to download it. My computer has about 2x the requirements of it. :D What is "dual-boot" ?? onigiri 03-18-2006, 04:33 AM I'm buying a new computer when Vista comes out, partly to have Vista, but mostly to install a Chinese input program on, since my brother doesn't want me to install it on the computer we share. iTux 03-18-2006, 05:37 AM Yeah, i'm gonna get it, I just hope it's good. Angelica 03-18-2006, 06:01 AM I've heard about it, but really don't have an opinion on it as of yet. I guess I'll just have to see. Magln Meow 03-18-2006, 06:19 AM ^ ;) Love puss in boots! </offtopic> I've heard about Windows Vista. Personally XP is fine for me. Backlight 03-18-2006, 06:31 AM I can't wait for it :) but for now crystal xp will do just fine ;) tokyo bleu 03-18-2006, 08:08 AM What is "dual-boot" ?? Having more than one operating system installed to choose from when you boot your system up... like Linux and Windows. Backlight 03-18-2006, 08:14 AM Having more than one operating system installed to choose from when you boot your system up... like Linux and Windows. oh lol cool.. *Jen* 03-18-2006, 12:25 PM I've never heard of it before. Arwen 03-18-2006, 12:39 PM I've heard of Windows Vista and I'd like to try it! :D Marta 03-18-2006, 05:02 PM I haven't heard that much about it. I think xp works just fine, especially since the system we had before it was 95! It really depends if my dad decides to get it, which I don't really expect. It sounds cool though. luvhartz 03-18-2006, 05:08 PM Bah I know nothing much of vista and to be honest right now I dont really care, though I clicked I dont know on the poll when it comes out I may be very strapped for cash [probably] I'm happy with XP tokyo bleu 03-18-2006, 11:32 PM Well, guys, there will be six versions of Windows Vista. 3 versions will be for home users. 2 versions will be for businesses. 1 version will be for "emerging markets." Here are their names: Vista Business Vista Enterprise Vista Home Basic Vista Home Premium Vista Ultimate Vista Starter If you guys are interested in the different versions, here's (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/4754462.stm) where I got the information from. :) Douglas 03-18-2006, 11:55 PM Cooool I want one of the business ones, they are the best I think :D allie 03-19-2006, 05:26 AM I'm so behind. I still have Windows ME on this computer  bejayel 03-19-2006, 09:53 AM uhh windows vista can duel boot. I tripple booted with vista, xp pro, and ubuntu linux using vistas boot configuration when the first beta 1 build was released. and yes i wil be installing vista :):):) Chris 03-19-2006, 01:08 PM I'm sure it's been said in this thread, but I bet hardly any computers will be able to cope with Windows Vista - it's requirements are far too much. Anyway, in my opinion it's just a copy of Apple's Mac OS, and still won't be as good, and I doubt I'll upgrade to Vista. If anything, I'll change to Mac OS. (or Home Premium) tokyo bleu 03-19-2006, 05:48 PM Anyway, in my opinion it's just a copy of Apple's Mac OS, and still won't be as good, and I doubt I'll upgrade to Vista. How is it a copy? I mean, it's standard for Microsoft to release a new OS every few years. Chris 03-19-2006, 07:27 PM I don't really know enough about its architecture, so I'm purely basing the similarities on the interface. :D Tracey 03-19-2006, 08:12 PM I'll get Windows Vista but not right away... When I get a new computer, but that will take about 2 yerars, because I just got a new computer with Windows XP Media Center Edition.lol Patrick 03-19-2006, 08:57 PM uhh windows vista can duel boot. Are you sure?? One of my friends is a Vista beta tester and he said that it will dual boot in the next CTP release, not Februarys CTP. tokyo bleu 03-22-2006, 06:18 AM Awww! :( Microsoft to Delay Windows Vista Release (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060322/ap_on_hi_te/microsoft_windows;_ylt=Ake8TFGgAcRBQg5HYwrWJRys0NU E;_ylu=X3oDMTA3b2NibDltBHNlYwM3MTY-) SEATTLE - Microsoft Corp. will delay the consumer release of its new Windows operating system until January 2007, missing the holiday sales season and throwing some PC makers and retailers into turmoil. I was looking foward to buying a new PC with Vista on it this year. Chris 03-22-2006, 02:51 PM That won't bode well for Microsoft. tokyo bleu 03-22-2006, 04:36 PM Oh, well, at least they're taking the time to fix up more glitches and stuff, I suppose. =P |
