dolce shanti 03-17-2006, 02:36 PM I just read "The Alchemist," which was very interesting. I just finished it this morning, so I'm still pondering what I think about it ;)
I also read The Da Vinci Code lately. I do have my opinions on it...that it is an attack against Christianity (even if Mr. Brown didn't mean for it to be). There's a lot more that goes into that opinion, but there it is :)
I have also been re-reading the Harry Potter books. Always good! However, I just lost the HBP somewhere, so I can't finish right now. :P I tore apart my closet looking for it, but didn't find it. Ah well, at least I have a clean closet now ;)
rainbow_monkey 03-17-2006, 04:06 PM ....... Ah well, at least I have a clean closet now ;)

Kittie 03-17-2006, 05:06 PM cleaning relaxes me--- lol [/off topic]
i should read the Da Vinci Code- a lot of ppl are reading it! plus i hear its really good from other peopl.. arent they comin out with a movie about it?
dolce shanti 03-17-2006, 07:37 PM Dan Brown He actually presents a lot of lies in The Da Vinci Code, though they're portrayed as truth. Of course, it IS fiction, but he makes it seem as if it's truth with his Fact page.
For example...He mentions the Council of Nicea with Constantine, claiming that they decided the deity of Christ with a vote, and that it was a close vote. Untrue. They were actually affirming their belief that Jesus was Christ. And the vote? 400 to 2 said that Jesus was who He said He was - not a close vote at all!
Anyways, I've written a whole paper on that...if anyone wants to hear more they can just pm me :stickout:
</offtopic..kinda>
