Okay, I got a new computer recently ... and it comes with a DVD burner on it. I want to try it out, but I don't know what kind of blank DVDs to get. There's so many kinds. DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, DVD-Ram. So, is there a certain type you have to get for your burner, or does one DVD apply to all burners. And if so, what blank DVDs should I get? Please and Thankyou. :lilangel:

P.S, Sorry
I'm very Computer Illiterate. :scared:

DVD-R are normally the best to stick with, as they seem to be more compatible with more DVD players/recorders. DVD+R would be next in line.
DVD-RW Are just rewritable DVD-'s. DVD-RAM can only be used on computers, no home DVD player veiwing. If you want to know more about it Go Here (http://editorial.tucows.com/blog/HowTo/_archives/2005/6/28/980435.html)

you should check first if your burner is compatable with those discs before buying them of course..
if you're looking to just store data, documents and such, i would go with cd-r/rw
if you want to store large files like video (anime :D) dvd-r's are what i use. they store about 4.4 gigs enough for 2 seasons of a show..
if you want to make a backup/copy a dvd movie onto a disc to play on ur dvd player, you'll most likely need dvd+r
if you just want to transfer or store temporary, large files; then a flash/memory stick would be best. or an ipod :D
