i wasnt nesarily advertising my site... i could see if i was directly asking people to go to my domain, then that would be advertising... yes?

i want to understand the rules on signatures and whats considered advertising... ? thanks :)

The rules are that your not allowed to have any links to your site in your signiture, you can have links to like a signiture picture... Like I did, but it can't be hosted on your site I think. It has to be hosted on like photobucket or someother hosting site.

what about offering free hosting for people? im not making money off hosting people, i know what its like being hosted off a free server, ... some are good but most of them mess your site up with ads... i put it in my sig because this is bacially a web design/prorgamming forum... i wanted to help others out if they needed hosting... without the banners and pop-up ads...

No, that's still not allowed, sorry. Even personal sites that aren't making any money at all aren't allowed to be 'advertised'. Most people here aren't making money from their site. If we allowed advertising of any kind we're afraid that people would come here just to get people to go to their site. And if we said that only non profit sites could advertise it would be really hard to decide which sites could be advertised and which couldn't. It's really nice to offer free hosting to people, but this rule applies to every single website to keep things fair :)

You can't advertise on this website. It's not allowed to be advertised. There are other sites that let you do that and i'm not sure if you just joined to advertise. Like I said if you post anything that advertises other sites and it doesn't want you to do it, they might delete it. Neopets is okay under the neopets board.

bravenet on a pedastool.. lol, honestly i can think of a lot of free hosts out there that are better... sorry, i never liked them much, but some of the things there are nice to use if you cant do it yourself... :)
