Hello guys,
I was wondering if anyone of you here uses picture tube as a webset?
I've seen a lots of webset designs and I wanted to make my own too using picture tube or something like that.

I'm not really sure if these sets were from a picture tube but looks that way. Can anyone tell me where to get a good tutorial on this? I'm using PSP version 7.

I'm not sure if the sets you have here were made with tubes. Now that being said, in order to use tubes for a webset you will have to A) either use your original art or B) ask permission from the original artist. If you are asking about the tubes that come with the program I think somewhere it says you may use them, but you may not profit from their use--meaning you may make websets to give away but you can not sell the websets or offer them on any kind of CD. If you have other tubes you wish to use it may be impossible to track the original artist down so you will have to do a lot of research first. ALWAYS HAVE PERMISSION BEFORE USING ANYONE'S (other than your own) ART!

As far as tutorials for websets I don't know of any but look for tutorials on each component i.e, buttons, banners, etc and just make your own theme. You can find great tutorials at http://www.psplinks.com.

I don't want to sell my webset of course! I just want to make it for myself or for somebody who likes them.

I made some tubes by myself. I took some pictures on our garden and made a tube.

The links that I gave was only a sample so you guys have an idea of what I'm talking about ;);)

Ok then...yes lots of people use tubes to create their websets as tubes makes repetition easy.

You can certainly use YOUR photos that YOU took personally, use artwork that you created, use poem that you wrote, etc, to make anything you wish. It is to your discretion what you do with said photos, artwork, poetry,etc.

But if you made tubes from someone else's photos, artwork, ideas, etc, you will not be able to use them in anyway shape or form without prior permission from the artist, author, etc. regardless of whether you will use them for your own use, to sell, or give away. It's called copyright infringement. It is also called respect for the other's work.

You're probably thinking--it's only for my website, no one but my friends will see--but once you put it up on the web you can bet someone you don't know will see it and could just possibly the artist you didn't have permission from then you've opened a whole new can of worm subject to law suits in some countries and could also get your site taken down among other nasty things.

Go ahead and make your websets from tubes. Using tubes doesn't mean the sets will be no less beautiful than any other art, just make sure their your own creation from start to finish or have permission.
