Actually, his reason was listed on the shoutbox below ;) He posted a tutorial in the User Tutorial forum, and posted an outside link in it. The link was removed, because the rules of the forum state not to have outside links in posts in that forum.

All he or she did was put a four letter word not a link.

I did a search in google of the word he or she had and the site isn't on the first 5 pages (I didn't check the rest).

I'm fairly certain that was done in an effort to avoid further drama. Some folks don't seem to be able to move on, and the person who posted that was one of them. It really has nothing to do with insecurity.
