I was wondering what you think about users complaining about ads and how you deal with it. I'm a teenage college student and I run a gigantic site that caters to a large audience of people and is geared towards virtually every age, including those under the age of 10 (their parents supervise the browsing of the kids and also use the site themselves).
As a result, people have problems with virtually every ad. Ads that don't have as much flashing are usually dating ads (and Tribal Fusion supplies me with a lot of those because of the good performance), but the parents complain about these.
The "kid-friendly" ads are generally very annoying with intense animation. Everyone hates those, but there are a lot of those and filtering them out has a negative impact on revenue.
There are some ads that don't bother people, but there aren't as many.
Also, I've agreed not to use popunders because people hate them so much, even though all *good* browsers block them anyway.
